Intermational Olympiad in Informatics (IOI) merupakan ajang kompetisi pemrograman di tingkat Internasional yang sudah berlangsung sejak 1985. IOI merupakan ajang bergengsi setingkat SMA. Hingga saat ini pesertanya mencapai 1500 siswa dari 80-an negara, termasuk Indonesia menjadi salah satunya dimulai tahun 1997. Peserta diberikan sejumlah persoalan yang harus diselesaikan dengan program dalam waktu singkat. Program yang dibuat akan dinilai dari berapa banyak test case yang berhasil dijawab dengan benar oleh program tersebut. Dari sini bisa disimpulkan bahwa kompetisi IOI adalah menguji kemampuan peserta dalam memecahkan permasalahan (problem solving) pemrograman komputer.

This work is an overview of the evolution of language very dear to the author because she was the first to study at the time of her school study, Pascal. In the opinion of many, this dated language still surprises us with modern development platforms such as Dev-Pascal, Delphi and Lazarus. In this book we focus first on Pascal in general and on the application of some simple addition and sorting programs in Dev-Pascal and then dedicate ourselves to a more complex platform that also allows the creation of visual applications with the insertion of Form integrated with the language Pascal, Lazarus. Finally we are dedicated to the design and creation of databases and we integrate them into Lazarus applications.
