Issues and Prospects

The authors establish three discrete varieties of research - supra-national, intra-national, and trans-national, and explores issues and examples within each. The format of this work helps readers learn how to define and distinguish each kind of research, then provides examples of applications of the three.

In this chapter, we distinguish national from supranational research in social work
by discussing a hypothetical example of what might be involved in
conceptualizing the research process in studying differential usage of social
services, and in chapter 3 we present five actual studies of supranational
research, highlighting issues in the conduct and utilization of research. We
