Kehadiran buku ini diharapkan dapat memberikan kontribusi bagi perkembangan ilmu dan pengetahuan kepada para pembaca khususnya terkait dengan ilmu ekonomi. Manusia sebagai makhluk ekonomi senantiasa berusaha untuk memenuhi kebutuhan hidupnya, mempertimbangkan pengorbanan, dan manfaat dari tindakan yang dilakukan. Dengan demikian, memahami ilmu ekonomi sangat penting bagi manusia. Ilmu ekonomi adalah bagian ilmu sosial yang mempelajari perilaku manusia dalam upaya memenuhi kebutuhan. Sistematika penyusunan buku dalam bentuk book chapter ini terdiri atas dua puluh bab, dan diberi judul Pengantar Ilmu Ekonomi (Suatu Tinjauan Teoretis). Dalam penyusunan buku ini, tentunya masih terdapat banyak kekurangan, seperti kata pepatah tak ada gading yang tak retak, sejatinya kesempurnaan itu hanya milik Sang Pencipta. Oleh sebab itu, kami sangat mengharapkan saran dan masukan dari para pembaca demi penyempurnaan karya selanjutnya.
