I, Jane M. Hurlock, grew up in a small rural town in Northern Minnesota.
What do you want to be when you get older? Anita wants to be a chef when she grows up and she's well on her way to making that dream come true. She enjoys preparing the menu and making breakfast for her mom, uncle, and older brother. She even gets dressed up in her apron and chef's hat! Anita shows children that with a little determination and practice, they can be anything they want when they grow up! Melda Gaskins is the author of several works of fiction, including Between the Lies and Pain, Twilight Sleeping, and Where Loyalties Lie. She enjoys writing fiction for children and young adults. Gaskins grew up in a home of six with two brothers and one sister and has two grown children, Jason and Karlynn. The author has worked in the education field for more than 22 years and has a doctorate in Educational Leadership from the University of LaVerne in Southern California.
