Neuropsychology in the Care of People with Epilepsy

Having appeared in the 1930s in Montreal, standardised neuropsychological evaluation has become an essential tool in the clinical diagnosis and evaluation of surgical epileptic patients. Nevertheless, despite great progress over the last 20 to 30 years in the diagnosis and medical treatment of epilepsy, clinical neuropsychology still remains largely associated with surgical epilepsy, particularly surgery of the temporal lobe. Clinical neurology has still not managed to clear a way in the daily practice with patients with all types of epilepsy despite significant advances in cognitive neuroscience and a large number of clinical studies on epilepsy and cognition. How is it that there are only rarely major advances in the field of clinical neuropsychology? It has long been time for this question to be asked, and for an attempt to be made to bring about changes. This was the aim of the Toronto workshop and the result of this book. Every approach was debated, providing important elements to reflect on and allowing a great forum for exchanges. This book includes the communications from the main participants and comments from some others on specific subjects.

Assessing Young Learners of English: Global and Local Perspectives

This volume documents international, national, and small-scale testing and assessment projects of English language education for young learners, across a range of educational contexts. It covers three main areas: age-appropriate ‘can do statements’ and task types for teaching and testing learners between the ages of 6 to 13; innovative approaches to self-assessment, diagnostic testing, self- perception, and computer-based testing; and findings on how young learners perform on vocabulary, listening, speaking, pronunciation, and reading comprehension tests in European and Asian contexts. Early language learning has become a major trend in English language education around the globe. As a result of the spread of teaching English to a growing number of young children, assessment of and for learning have emerged as key issues. In line with this development, there is a clear and emerging need to make early language programs accountable and to assess both the progress children make over time and to quantify their achievement at various stages of development. Hukum Ekspor Impor

Perdagangan internasional pada hakikatnya transaksi sederhana yang tidak lebih dari membeli dan menjual barang antara pengusaha-pengusaha yang berdomisili di negara-negara yang berbeda.Namun, dalam pertukaran barang dan jasa yang menyeberangi laut ataupun darat ini tidak jarang timbul berbagai masalah yang kompleks karena perbedaan aturan hukum dan cara pembayaran (mata uang). Oleh karena itu, penting dipahami aspek hukum ekspor impor. Salah satu permasalahan dalam peningkatan investasi dan kinerja ekspor Indonesia adalah rendahnya kepastian hukum. Untuk mengatasi hal tersebut, perlu dibuat peraturan perundang-undangan yang baik, lengkap, dan dilaksanakan secara konsekuen. Lahirnya Undang-Undang No.2 Tahun 2009 tentang terbentuknya Lembaga Pembiayaan Ekspor Indonesia (LPEI) atau Indonesia Eximbank, menegaskan fungsi lembaga ini sebagai agen pemerintah dalam mengadakan hubungan dengan pihak ketiga, baik domestik maupun internasional. Melalui buku ini dibahas mengenai pengaturan LPEI, kebijakan umum, dan pengecualian di luar ketentuan umum dalam bidang ekspor impor. Termasuk di dalamnya tentang barang yang diatur, diawasi, dilarang, dan bebas eskpornya, pengawasan dan pengendalian mutu barang, serta pungutan dan harga patokan ekspor.

Oleh karena itu, penting dipahami aspek hukum ekspor impor. Salah satu permasalahan dalam peningkatan investasi dan kinerja ekspor Indonesia adalah rendahnya kepastian hukum.
