Buffalo Leech, Hirudinaria Manillensis, as Supplementary Income to Rice Farmers

There is only one species of buffalo leech, Hirudinaria manillensis, in Sabah. Their ready availability in rice field cauld well be utilized for farming and supplement the income of local farmers. The leech which is high in protein 69.45 + 16.45% and low in lipid 3.50 + 0.00 serves as a good source of cheap protein in formulating animal feeds. [Author's abstract].
