Optimisation of a Phase Change Thermal Storage System

This research has focused on characterising PCM encapsulated in spheres for optimisation. In addition, a study into enhancing the heat transfer within the PCM was conducted. Ultimately, the potential useful energy that can be stored in a PCM based thermal storage system with spheres was maximised. This optimisation can be applied to any PCM storage application with spheres.
