ABSTRACTS: "The article traces the development of public libraries in Kuala Lumpur under the auspices of Dewan Bandaraya Kuala Lumpur. The Kuala Lumpur Memorial Library, the branch and mobile libraries serve thos living in flats, housing areas, schools and traditional villages within the city and its surrounding areas. Through their varied collection and activities, the libraries try to meet the needs of city dwellers especially the younger and shool-going generation". [Author's abastract].
