MMPI-2 Study with a Muslim Sample in the Tampa BAy Area

In order to both develop and provide more effective mental health services for the Muslim population, a closer examination of personality functioning of Muslim individuals needs to take place. The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between devotion to the Islamic religion and personality functioning. The current study involved a sample of 30 male and 30 female Muslim participants whose responses on the Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory-2 (MMPI-2) and on the Muslim Attitude Towards Religiosity Scale (MARS) were examined for group trends. Results were reviewd in the context of the development of more effective assissment and therapeutic services for this population.
