Ibn Hazm was a theologian, jurist, polemicist, scholar, and was one of the brightest minds in Spain. However, the work that immortalized him was El Collar de la Paloma—published in 1022 in the city of Játiva and known as "the most famous book on the theme of love in Muslim civilization" according to Ortega y Gasset. He produced more than 30 chapters of unique and unclassifiable work, which includes reflections, memories, and selected poems.
