Naturally the Qur’an, the central core of Islamic thought, is at the heart of this academic interest. This book is meant as reading material for students of Qur’anic studies and as an introduction to some of the basic concepts and works in Shi‘a exegesis. It is a collection of articles written by experts in the field, summarizing the main issues and discussions, and translated into English for the benefit of a Western audience.
