In the postmodern age there is no such thing as rule-by-objective-truth. The modern, scientific republic has lost its modern philosophical foundations. If all human thought and action is tradition-bound we must construct a more democratic approach to government while understanding that democracy itself is a tradition with metaphysical underpinnings. In Neopopulism as Counterculture Tom Dahlberg and Erick Kaardal construct the democratic countercultural artifacts which will be required to deconstruct the modern, liberal, managerial state (a mythological scientific republic) which can no longer legitimately monopolize the means of cultural production including education, the courts, and policy-making science.
